Elizabeth Arden's Dual Perfection Brow Shaper

I have no idea why I have not posted on this product before! I have been using it off and on for years and I just started using again remembering why I love it so much! Many moons ago I worked for Elizabeth Arden, where I was introduced to the Dual Perfection Brow Shaper and fell in love!

This is a pressed powder product that comes in 5 colours in the US but I do know the shades are more limited in Canada. The first thing I have to comment on is the staying power of this product, for a powder it is amazing how with no primers or setting this powder gives perfect brows for the whole day!! Next is how long far this little compact goes... I have had this compact for more then two years and I still have over 1/2 of the product left! It is amazing how a little goes a long way! The brush included works wonderfully for applying, but I must admit that I use another one as the short handle just doesn't work for me unless I am traveling!

I use the blonde shade and it blends with the various shades of blonde and red my hair has been over the 6 years since I first started using it! As well depending on the brush you use to apply you can get anywhere from a very natural look to the most intense drawn on type brow you like, all in one little package!

Red Earth Absolute Brows Review

I have tried several Red Earth products in the past and loved the quality so when I saw their brow powder for 75% off I just had to give it a try. I never stray far from my Elizabeth Arden brow powder even though it is over $30 I have not been without out it for years. Well I can't believe I am saying this but I have a new brow powder and it is Red Earths absolute brows!!

This powder comes in a compact with 2 colours as well as a setting wax. My brows are blond so this one consisted of a very light blond and a medium blond, great for creating natural looking brows. The wax is a deep blond but really I don't tend to use the wax much unless my brows are being unruly that day. It also comes with a mini mascara wand, angled brush and the tiniest tweezers I have ever seen. They work quite well even with their small size and while a little hard to work with I would use them when away from home instead of taking my larger tweezers.

The sad part is that the reason I got such a great deal is that Red Earth has decided not to carry their products in North America anymore, although the clearance sales have been nice to take advantage of. This company is Australian and you will still be able to order these products online at http://www.redearth.com which I will be doing once my brow powder starts running low. 

I think I may go and try to stock up on other products while a can at this great price so I can try out some more of these products. Run out while you still can and buy some Red Earth products while you can!

Eyebrow Tutorial

So the question I get asked most is about shaping eyebrows! When tweezing remember less is more. When you can I always suggest to go to a professional, at least for the initial shaping. If you can't here are some tips.
1) Never tweeze from above (leave this to a professional)
2) At first only remove stray hairs then assess when else needs to be removed.
3) Create a guideline using a white eye pencil, this way you will not tweeze too much.

When creating a shape start by creating an imaginary line from your nose through the inner corner of your eye. Only remove hairs that fall to the outer part of this line. Next create an imaginary line from your nose through the iris of your eye. This should be the highest part of your arch. Next a line from your nose through the outer corner of your eye, this should be where your brow ends.

If you wish to fill in your brow use a brow powder as this gives the most natural look. Use an angled brush and create brow using short strokes so that the powder looks more like hairs. Never use a powder that is darker then your natural brow unless going for a dramatic look. A slightly lighter powder again gives a more natural look.
