What to Buy for That Makeup-a-holic During the Holidays!!

Over the past couple of weeks I have been posting great holiday collections released by some of my favourite cosmetic companies. These limited edition products are a great place to start for that special someone on your list. Please take a moment to check out posts over the last month for these great holiday collections!

This year I wanted to take a different approach to the holiday shopping suggestions then last year and a great place to start is with accessories. All of us makeup obsessed need storage for our products, as well as a great place to set up our amazing products. Why not buy that special someone a new vanity, or shelving for storage?? As well many companies offer great organizational products that help us to find what we are looking for quickly! I have included some pictures of these products so just chick on the pic to be taken to where you can find these items!!

As well if you are crafty there are clever ways of using office storage items etc to organize makeup. Why not surprise that special someone by buying all the items the need and setting up a makeup area for them?! Hard to do in a sneaky way I know but I would love to find a special space set up just for me and just being allowed to play in a well organized work space!

Annabelle Custom Quads Spring Colour Additions

Spring is on it's way so this month Annabelle is launching the 4 new Spring shades to the Custom Quad line, Toxic Garden, Helium, Nymphet and Pinked. These four colours make me think of Easter right away, but are still sophisticated colours for women of all ages.

Toxic Garden is a sheer muted green with a gold metallic sheen to it great for a funky highlight to the eye. Helium is a light nude pink shade with a lot of pink shimmer to it. Nymphet is a minty green colour with a blue reflect to it, this one may be my favourite addition for the Spring. Last but not least is Pinked, a bright pink with a more subtle golden sparkle to it. Pinked can look a little chalky but works great with a good base and a patting application instead of a windshield wiper type motion!

Don't miss out on these great additions the Custom Quad line as with all seasonal colours, they won't be available for long!

Favorite Beauty Books of a Makeup Artist!

I get asked often what books I would recommend to people who want to learn more about makeup! There is an endless amount of great books out there so I though I would include a new section on my blog where you see my recommendations and then then have a chance to read more about each book.

You will find over to the left a section called My Favorites. Here I will be adding books that I love so that you can have a complete list. Some are geared towards beginners and some for the more advanced, but there will be something there for everyone! I will update this list whenever I can to include my new favorites!

The Holidays Are Over... Now Bring On the Great Deals!!!

So the holiday's are over and now I am in the midst of trying to play catch up on emails while testing products I received over the break. I was lucky enough to be a part of a fun pin up shoot over the weekend and I can't wait to get some pics so that I can share the results with you!

Now that the holiday's are over many companies are clearing out their holiday collections, take the time to check your local stores to see what great deals you can get on some amazing limited edition products!! It's a great way to pick up products you wouldn't buy for yourself during your holiday shopping!

Stocking Stuffers for Your Makeup Lover this Christmas!

  
It can be so hard to buy cosmetics for that makeup lover on your list. There are so many 'safe' options that they will love that I thought I would share a small list if you are finding hard to buy for that special person this holiday season.

Unless they have made you a list colours can be hard to purchase, foundations can be hard to match without the person present, and shadow's etc can be daunting to say the least. There are some staple products though that we makeup lovers can never seem to have enough of. If you look in a stocked makeup drawer anywhere in the world you will numerous variations of these products at once, so here is the safe list!

Mascara is always a safe bet. I usually have 4 different ones going at any given time, and I am always looking for a new one!

Second is eye liner, something I can never have enough of. There are many types of liners out there so the options are endless. For a very young makeup lover I would suggest a pencil, they are easier to apply and it is easy to correct mistakes. For someone who loves the dramatic liquid is always a great option, and always a favorite in black!

Third is nail polish, I know I said to stay away from colours but this is the exception! If I could I would have one of every shade available, and many other makeup addicts are the same!!

Fourth is an amazing clear lip gloss! We all have them, love them and could use another! Gloss is another one of those things I am always looking to try, and clear is the safest option that can be worn to add shine to any favorite lipstick!

If you are shopping a counter ask about their best seller or newest offering. If you are shopping at the drug store, look for that product that has been placed on on a stand alone display! This usually means that this is a new from the company so they are looking to give it some special attention!

I know there are endless more options and I would love to hear yours! I hope this just gives you a point to start from when shopping for that makeup addict on your list!
